Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) is the oldest faculty
of the University of Banja Luka, growing from Department of Electronics
and Telecommunications, founded in 1962, as the Department of
the Technical Faculty of Banja Luka. In 1970s and at the beginning
of 1980s the needs for electrical engineers were increased and
the Department was separated from the Technical faculty, establishing
the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1975. At the beginning,
there were the Department of Electronics and Tele-communications
and Department of Computer Science and Automation. Since 1994
there has been the Department of power Engineering.
Undergraduate studies normally take 4 years (8 semesters). 8th semester is dedicated to the final diploma work. In the first year of studying all subjects are common for all three departments which are mentioned before and listed bellow:
- Department of Electronics
and Telecommunications
- Department of Computer Science and Information Technology
- Department of Power Enginnering and Industrial Systems
At average 200 freshmen attend the FEE each year.
Each year a B.Sc. degree is received by 30-50 students and there
has been more than 1700 students who graduated so far.
In adition to undergraduate programs, the FEE also offers two graduate programs at Master's level and graduate program at Doctoral (Ph.D.) level. There have been more than 50 master theses and several Ph.D. theses received at the faculty.

were organized in 1971/72.
The FEE offers postgraduate studies (four semesters), and Research&Development
(R&D) specialized courses (two semesters).
Both type of studies include areas of Electronics, Communications,
Computer Science, Automation and Power Engineering.
